Music & Medicine Big Band Jazz Ensemble

The Weill Cornell Big Band Jazz Ensemble makes its debut! This concert showcases the extraordinary talent of medical and graduate students, residents, fellows, attending physicians, and professors, bringing the Music & Medicine initiative into the world of high-energy big band jazz for the first time.

The afternoon kicks off with the Music & Medicine Jazz Combo, followed by the full big band ensemble, directed by Chris Worden, swinging through arrangements from Duke Ellington to Gordon Goodwin, plus rising contemporary voices like Seulah Noh. The big band will feature two dynamic vocalists performing timeless classics by Ella Fitzgerald and Natalie Cole.
